Worcester Regional Retirement System
Serving the County of Worcester Massachusetts

Exterior of Worcester Regional Retirement System Office located in Auburn, MA

Organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts effective January 1, 1937, the Retirement System has over seven thousand (7,000) active and (3,000) three thousand inactive members and three thousand (3,000) retirees from ninety four (94) member units throughout Worcester County.

We currently have about $400 million in assets and we are the 7th largest public retirement systems in the State of Massachusetts. We have the largest number of units  for a retirement system in the state.

The Retirement System is governed by a five-member Retirement Board, made up of two   elected members, one member appointed by member treasurers, one member appointed by the board, and a chairman also appointed by the board. We are subject to the provisions  of  Chapter 32B and 34B of the Massachusetts General Laws.  Our retirement system, as well   as all public retirement systems in Massachusetts, is overseen by the Public Employee  Retirement Administration Commission ("PERAC").

This website is here to provide members, employees, retirees and beneficiaries of the  Worcester Regional Retirement system with information and news items. We hope the  site is used as  a source of facts and information on the latest in Retirement System news.
